The heat has been a bit much occasionally and we have a policy of shorter walks in extreme heat and if it's just too hot then we have a pop in visit with water play in the garden for dogs.
Summer is a great time for dog walking though and we really enjoy socialising our dogs in the various fields and walks around beautiful Malmesbury. It's important to look out for summer stingers though as we found out recently when a poor dog trod on and was stung by a bee! Thankfully Mel always carries a first aid kit and so she was able to remove the sting (just using a fingernail, not tweezers as that releases more poison), and made the dog comfortable as the sting wore off - then off for a paddle to cool down!
There's so many lovely walks around town - The Wortheys shown on the map below is a favourite of ours.
