We've been enjoying the late Summer sun but have noticed the dark nights starting to slowly draw in, the wood is being chopped and our cat Daisy is looking forward to the first time she gets to sit on the rug in front of the fire, though I know some people have not been as keen on the size of the Spiders coming in looking for mates! Everyone needs a bit of romance sometimes though I suppose! Remember to book your daytime dog walks to avoid trudging though the dark Autumn nights, we work all hours and can make sure your doggie is fully satisfied and tired out by the time you get back from work!
Things around town have certainly been entertaining!
On a sad note, the last week also saw the awful tragedy of the fire at Manchester and Cheshire Dogs' Home
This was truly an horrific story and I know all the animal lovers of the UK (of which there are many), are united in grief for the poor dogs and in support for the rescuers, carers and everyone involved in this terrible event. Click on the home's name above to visit their website where you can get involved by donating to a fund to help them rebuild the home.
There was also a conviction of a suspended sentence for three people from Trowbridge who hanged a dog so as to avoid paying to have it put down. I know many people believe this sentence to be far to lenient for such a heartless and unnecessary thing to do. The shock felt from both of these news items does, however, go to show what a nation of animal lovers we are, let's keep working to educate owners before they take animals on, regarding the responsibility and cost of owning a pet.
