I've just returned from a morning pop-in visit with two absolutely gorgeous Balinese cats called Gollum and Skye. After breakfast and litter tray cleaning I had a wonderful break-through with them. So far they have kept their distance, watching me with silent curiosity as I tried in vain for them to come for a cuddle (there are only so many cat-calls I can imitate)! But today Gollum led the way in bravely approaching me for a sniff, then a head scratch and finally I end up spending a lovely half an hour of cuddles and stroking with the odd tummy tickle thrown in for good measure! I can't wait for tonight's visit to see if it was cupboard love or if they want more affection - what a lovely job I have!!
We are still recovering from all the fun of the fair at the fabulous Malmesbury Carnival 2014 on Saturday. Our entry in the procession 'Mel's Pets' went down well (me with two friends in animal onesies on leads)!! Though it was a job to dodge the flying pennies as the town gave generously to the Carnival fund. There were some great entries and a fab time was had by all - though let me tell you, it's quite scary to be sandwiched in-between a float and a huge tractor! We were kept on our toes!! Well done to everyone who took part, the organisers and volunteers.
